Recovering a Windows 95 system with Permedia which boots to a black screen.

This often happens if an inappropriate video monitor display is selected
in the display control panel.  Usually the OS has come up, just without displaying.

  - Pressing ESC, then Alt F4, RETURN will shutdown the system blind.
  - Reboot while hitting F8 until the safe mode menu comes up.
  - Select Safe mode with networking.
    (the machine should boot and yeild a desktop display)
  - Use the display control panel to change the monitor to a more
    compatible setting.  Note: <unknown> can often be the MOST INCOMPATIBLE setting!
  - Reboot ... the desktop should will now be visible.
